Week 1: Herbivore ... Yesterday: Carnivore!

Who knew you could eat so many types of meat?!

Last night, we tagged along with the CoKF Student Trip to go to the ever popular (and highly touristy!) restaurant, Carnivore. Pete and I have been trying to eat less meat, especially while traveling, and well, let's just say it was hard to order off the vegetarian menu last night. The name pretty much sums up the restaurant - you go there to eat meat, and a lot of it. What the name doesn't tell you is you'll eat types of meat you never dreamed of eating. (Prior to 2004, they served even more exotic game ... zebra, giraffe, etc.)

Here's a list of game we tried last night ...

* Chicken (booooring!)
* Pork Spare Ribs (very tasty, but again, not exotic in the least bit)
* Lamb (with amazing mint sauce)
* Ostrich Meatballs (very, very tasty)
* Camel (who knew you could eat camel?!)
* Crocodile (tastes like the perfect cross between meat and seafood - so strange!)

Things we weren't so adventurous to try ...

* Chicken livers/gizzards
* Ox balls (a.k.a rocky mountain oysters ... and pete may have had a small bite of one)
* Pork sausage

And as if we didn't fill up on the plethora of meat, they also have fantastic dessert (chocolate chip blondie with vanilla ice cream!)

Last night was a nice, short-lived vacation from the land of beans and veggies. Ok, back to being vegetarian ...
